USU expands its cooperation with India

Indian Delegation headed by Dr. Kumar the curator of Indian students at USU,  visited Ulyanovsk State University. The guests met with Boris Kostishko, USU  Rector, Tatiana Kirillova-  Vice-rector for Youth Policy and Social Work and Marina Denisova - director of the Center for Work with International Students. The parties discussed the issues of training Indian students at USU. The demand for medical education in India is growing today. Every year, more than 300 citizens of this country enter USU for the specialties of the Faculty of Medicine. This year, citizens of neighboring countries with India - Bangladesh and Nepal - are ready to join the training programs for foreign students.

"In 2015, Ulyanovsk State University enrolled 23 first-year students from India for the first time. Now the number of students from India is more than 800 people. The education received at USU is very much appreciated in our homeland. After training, medical students receive a diploma in the "Medical business" specialty and can work as general practitioners. In order to get accreditation and admission to work, graduates of the Medical Faculty need to pass the screening test of the Medical Council of India, also known as the exam for foreign graduates of medical universities (FMGE), which, by the way, all graduates of USU pass on the first attempt," shared Dr. Kumar.

During the meeting, Dr. Kumar told colleagues from USU about the impressions of Indian students about Russia and studying at the university. He stressed that they were satisfied with the living conditions, and thanked the rector for his attention and care for his compatriots. The participants of the conversation agreed that thanks to the meeting, the interaction of the parties has given a new positive impetus.
