Mari State University hosted  the "Education, training and upbringing: topical issues of the theory and practice of life safety, physical culture, sports and tourism"  international scientific and practical conference , organized within the framework of the year of the teacher and mentor. USU was represented at the event by teachers and young scientists of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Rehabilitation consisting of Elena Kalenik, Elena Klyuchnikova, Daria Kartashova, Natalia Rossoshanskaya, Andrey Pirogov and Yulia Firsova. The head of the Department of Physical Culture, Associate Professor Elena Kalenik made a presentation on "Health-saving  technologies in the practice of higher education".

The conference was attended by representatives of 28 regions of Russia, India, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
